Chris Worden is a multihyphenate musician whose work spans performance, composition, production, engineering, and education. He holds a BA in Music and Computing in the Arts from Cornell University (2019) and an MM in Jazz Performance and Music Theory from New England Conservatory (2021).
After completing his studies, Chris worked as an Audio and Video Engineer at New England Conservatory before moving to New York to pursue performing, production and education. As a producer, he works with musicians on arrangement, pre-production, recording and mixing, helping shape projects from their early stages to a final recording. He specializes in bridging the gap between electronic and acoustic by helping artists incorporate recording, mixing and sound design techniques into their musical palette. As an educator, Chris teaches production and recording throughout the greater New York City area in addition to maintaining a private teaching studio in Ridgewood, Queens.
As an upright and electric bassist, Chris has performed with artists including Ingrid Jensen, Chad Lefkowitz-Brown, Wynton Marsalis, Peter Bernstein, and Maria Schneider. A longtime big band musician, Chris brings together his musicianship, teaching experience, and passion for big band music as director of the Weill Cornell Medicine Big Band, a role he has held since its inaugural concert in Spring 2026.
